A few years ago Road & Track printed a blurb about mixing up what the
writer called "great gas". It was essentially a mix of 110LL avgas and
premium unleaded. I don't have the proportions with me, but if I remember
tonight I'll get them.
THE CATCH is that you are supposed to pay the ROAD TAX for any gas you use
in your car, and said tax hasn't been paid on the avgas. I suppose you
could jump through some hoops and actually pay the tax, but I also suppose
it would be a supreme hassle.
I sprung for a tank of premium in my lowly Mazda 323 putter-wagon a few
weeks ago, and even that made a great difference in the way she ran.
