Chad,

Thanks for the response, was wondering what the voltage stabilizer was.  Just
replaced the Lucas alternator with a Delco 55 amp unit and was worried that
the new one was "defective".  Will check it later tomorrow.  I notice however
that the voltage on the dash guage always reads about 15 volts or so, but the
battery seems in great shape - i.e. not boiled out.  Me thinks you might be
right re: the voltage stabilizer.

Mike,

Verify that your voltage stabilizer (located behind the speedometer) is
putting out 10 Volts.  If its output is high, your gauge will read high.
