I just don't (haven't used 1 for 17 years on my TR6) use that silly rubber
gasket since I dumped 5 quarts of freshly changed GTX courtesy of that
gasket slipping out in 1978. Luckily, the oil dumping ceremony was performed
at a carport, not on the freeway doing xxx rpm. The cannister sealed OK w/o
a gasket, in my opinion. Or, as somebody suggested before, maybe there is
already a gasket or two permanently stuck in the dark groove; who knows.
