Window channel tips

1.  If your window is falling out of the channels it may not be
the channel itself that's bad; two other things can happen:

  - tensioner rod is loose.  This is a bent rod that wraps around
    the rear channel at the end and is used to kind of bind the
    whole assembly together.  Check that it hasn't worked loose
    at either end.
  - Rivets holding the channel to its brackets have become loose
    over time.  if the channel wiggles independently of the 
    brackets, this is your problem.  Drill the rivets out and 
    replace them.

2.  If you do buy new channels, test fit them first with the door
    disassembled to determine the correct length to cut off and
    the best mount position for the brackets.  Just copying the
    original position and length can be unsatisfactory.
