Hmm.  I would send the unit to Nisonger.  I'm not sure how much you
think your time is worth, but if you have taken it apart a dozen
times, $8/hour would match the $100 Nisonger would charge to fix it
right, and give you a 1 year warranty to boot.

The folks at Nisonger do an excellent job, and have my recommendation.
