I agree with TeriAnn and Rik re period-believable colors. But what about the converse? I recently bought David Hodges' "Essential Triumph TR" (not a lot of news, but inexpensive and really good photos). It has three color plates of the TR-2 color known as Gernanium. Wow! The name is exactly right: it's orangey-pink.
