I whole-heartedly second this.  In fact, check the "rubber biscuit" every
few months.  It is considered a "replenishable",  rather than "durable",
item in my estimation.  I've heard of too many GT6+ owners not changing
this bit and bad things happening (sounds like a chain letter).  It's really
not
that hard to do, and well worth the effort.  My dad used to change the same
piece on his Elan once a year (but then, he autocrossed it).

Aren't you supposed to cut the strap once the doughnut's in place?
 Eliminates
the need to use the "Vise-Grip(tm) chain tool".  They are handy, though.
