No, not first - that makes it as easy as possible for the transmission to
overcome the brakes! But as far as the "mechanic's feel" is concerned,
never mind - a torque at the crankshaft of 150 lbft is not going to break
anything. It's not too unusual to get that much torque >average< from the
engine with a mild hop-up job. If 150 lbft at the crank breaks anything,
it was going to break anyway.
