need advice on:
1. experience with shops doing inspection and body/frame
restoration/painting of spitfires near chicago
2. recommendations on general recent selling prices for car i'm looking at,
1980 spitfire 1500, 30k miles, cosmetic rust all around, some damage right
front, obviously not garaged at least some of its life, some upholstery
tears, lot rot (flat tire, brake rotors rusted, etc.), engine appears stock
but inspection of engine compartment makes it obvious it wasn't well
maintained, no belt on emission pump, doubt it would pass illinois emission
test, owner says it runs fine but haven't been inside it yet- i'd
appreciate names/locations/numbers for good chicago/midwest shops
3. source for shop manuals- is there a chilton's and is it good?
