I=E2=80=99ll add a twist on this. I put the disc brake conversion on my =
Alpine. The caliper is positioned such that if the rear compresses =
enough, the lip of the frame above the rear end will hit the parking =
brake spring part of the caliper before any stop is hit. I don=E2=80=99t =
know that I have ever hit such a bump that has caused anywhere near that =
kind of compression. But it still makes me nervous. I=E2=80=99ve been =
debating adding a bigger stop inside the shock itself (the are Konis, =
which I think do have such stops), or rotating the caliper to a =
different position. The problem with the different position is that the =
parking brake rod and cable will no longer work.

Just a thought to add to the collective knowledge.

Unfortunately guessing at the condition of the road springs by comparing =
tire clearances, ride heights, etc, is usually inconclusive because of =
car to car variables like wheel and tire sizes.
