1st you need to check the wire diagram and your wire harness.

Your situation sounds like the NY wire (brown / yellow) from the light =
is on the BAT terminal of the VR.

NY wire from light goes to ARM terminal on VR with NY wire from =
generator

Battery wires are N =E2=80=93 brown wires.

Got the car back recently from a 2 year body and paint vacation. Now I =
have wiring issues.=20

I connect the bat an the orange light comes on, my key is still in my =
hand. Car starts light goes out an it's charging fine. Shut off the car =
the light comesback on an never goes off?

My thoughts, voltage  regulator?
