I guess it depends on what you consider a quiet fuel pump.

Remember the stock fuel pump is good for around 200 HP; anything more and y=
ou need more fuel flow and possibly larger fuel lines.

I have a Purolator cube style fuel pump mounted in the trunk for my stock e=
ngine.=C2=A0 =C2=A0I can hear it until the engine starts.

The way you isolate the mount for the fuel pump can be key to the noise lev=
el.

Dash Red light ? always check the wiring diagram for correct wiring connect=
ions.

Check for correct wire connections at the Voltage Regulator and at the Igni=
tion Switch.

Make sure the ign. Switch is in the OFF position.

Accessories, OFF, RUN, START are the 4 positions.

My guess is that the White wire from the dash light is on the #1 ignition s=
witch post with the brown wire instead of the #2 post with the White wires.=

It is also possible that the ign. Switch is hung up somehow, turn the ign. =
Switch with the key several times with no battery power 1st.
