Anyone in your neighborhood rebuild generators; that =
would be the quickest way.
There are rebuild kits available for the do it yourself types.
=20
If it generates fine but gets noisy when warm =E2=80=93 sounds like the =
bearings need replacement only.
Looks like bearings are available on RockAuto.

Subject: [Tigers] Generator Issue
=20
When I first got the Tiger out this spring, I commented to my daughter =
that I was surprised that it seemed to be running fine, She said See? =
You shouldn't be so pessimistic. I replied that though it's running =
fine now, it's just because it has yet to reveal how it's going to GET =
me this year.
=20
Well, Sunday it did. Coming back from a little drive, I could clearly =
hear some extra clattering coming from under the hood. A quick listen =
with the hood up seemed to lay the blame with the generator, but we had =
people coming shortly, no time to check more. A confirmation drive this =
evening confirmed it. Once warmed up, the generator gets real noisy. =
It is generating just fine, I have both a voltmeter and an ammeter to =
prove it.
=20
The current generator is a rebuilt unit I got from Napa in 2010 ( It's =
actually the second from then, the first having a brush shatter after =
just a couple hundred mules). But I only have a few thousand miles on =
it since then. =20
=20
I want to buy a replacement and swap the core. Rock Auto claims to have =
them (look under old Mustangs), but are there any other sources that you =
guys could recommend? I have events I want to drive it to on June 24/25 =
so I need quick service.
=20
Thanks
