I=E2=80=99m glad someone else likes the color (86) too. There are blues =
(I believe 60=E2=80=99s-70=E2=80=99s Renaults), VW used a burnt orange =
not to long ago that seem to fall into a similar, slightly altered from =
the norm appearance as 86. To each their own for preference though I =
doubt 86 was a failed attempt by Rootes to replicate BRG. I=E2=80=99m =
thinking either they were trying to be different..., or they got a great =
deal on the color.
Regarding my comment about NTSC (National Television Standards =
Committee) because of the way old school TV worked it was often joking =
referred to as =E2=80=9CNever Twice (the) Same Color.

Both cars are identical Dupont acrylic lacquer
replacement 86 from 1979-1992 (I sprayed
it myself). Your dad probably matched the
original, which I see his is a MK1 like mine.
Mine was slightly darker and maybe a little
less milky. I like the milk though!

I know that pictures vary by camera, daylight, and computer screen. =
But I will say that the car in the foreground looks exactly to me like =
what I think factory 86 is. And when I put it next to the picture of my =
Tiger, I think the prior comments are true - mine is just a shade less =
milk, but still has some.
