Subject: [Tigers] starters for a stock 260 Tiger, the long and the short =
of
it
Hello,
=20
I got some really good information from listers yesterday. Thanks to =
all.
I'm leaning towards an IMI unit. But...
=20
It turns out that there are two starters that differ in their snout =
length
(shaft with gear, measured from mounting surface to longest point on =
shaft
with gear)
=20
One kind lister said that the longer one is for small-block Fords with
automatic transmissions, shorter ones for manual. The owner at IMI, a =
Tiger
owner for about 18 months, didn't know if this was so. He has both.
Long is about 15MM, short is about 6MM
=20
This appears to be the final piece to the puzzle. Can anyone help me in
this?=20
