The frames on the soft tops and seat frames and handbrakes ( though some
have claimed black seat frames and later handbrakes went to black) was
machine grey. This is a light grey colour but not the balmoral grey used on
the body. There also seems to have been a slightly darker shade used at
some point but stated colour was still machine grey.
