Ok. Now I understand. It is as they say. When you screw in the diaphragm rod into the center part of the points, and you push the rod up, the outside portion of the points mechanism goes up, and when it reaches a certain height, the spring flips and the inside of the points mechanism drops. The points are attached to this inside portion of the mechanism. I can now see how this could be described as "throw over". That is, as you keep tightening the diaphragm rod, at some point, you don't have enough lift to cause the points to "throw over" and drop. That is the point they want you to get to, and then loosen the diaphragm rod 2/3s of a turn (counted by the mounting holes that go through the diaphragm. So, now you know. When I get this done, I will write up a whole description. _______________________________________________ tigers@autox.team.net Donate: http://www.team.net/donate.html Archive: http://www.team.net/archive Forums: http://www.team.net/forums Unsubscribe: http://autox.team.net/mailman/options/tigers/tigers-archive@autox.team.net |
