Hi
I had a similar problem last spring but it was with the brake lamp on the
right side. I changed sockets, the entire rear lamp assembly all to no
avail. Convinced it was a ground issue I added a separate ground from the
wing nut to the body...this also failed to correct the problem. Finally I
made myself a ground wire with a ring connector on one end and a 30 amp clip
on the other. I clipped the one end to the socket body and secured the ring
connector under the wing nut. Sure enough...that corrected the problem and
both lamps now work fine.
