My recollection is that the turn signal lever on my Tiger when I bought
it new in 1966 was on the inside (i.e. the right side). At some point I
switched it to the left side to match the standard US location. At the
same time, I fitted a new lever with the extra contact that allows me to
operate the horns by pulling the lever toward myself, having fitted a
new steering wheel and done away with the horn ring. A quick check of a
photo in the Taylor book of an early US spec (LHD) MkI on the assembly
line shows the lever on the right (inside) as well.
At the present time, the self cancelling feature of the lever only works
when I make right hand turns. I haven't dug in to find the reason so
maybe now I will put it on the to-do list.
Cheers,
Tod
