It is just my opinion but I believe C. Shelby influenced the 260 for the first
Tigers. The 289 was available then but Shelby knew that with a 289 the Tiger
would blow away the first Cobras. As I said, it is just my opinion but if he
had reccomended the 289 to Lord Rootes, perhaps all Tigers would have had the
5 bolt 289 until the 6 bolt became available.
