Dave- this World Wide Imports was a used car lot and did repairs on forign
cars and he preferred to sell and work on English cars- in southern IL. No
relationship to the W W Imports you knew.

There is an old tech tip somewhere that said motor cycle shops carry
wire cables and can make them to length. Try there.
The Holley 600 on my F4B fits great. The accelerator cables was
to short too. So I found a hole on the linakage that worked the throttle
but was too small. I enlarged the hole with a drill. The cable fit
perfectly. Even room for the little cotter key.
Worldwide went out of business in 1984. A Parts Supplier in Wisconsin
bought everything he had at a cheap price.
Ratty old place stocked with NOS parts. Not so much Tiger Just Rootes.
There was a new Lucas battery on the shelf. Never used and came with
acid to activate it. The last place in Chicago that you could get NOS parts.
I once discovered a small box of NOS ignition keys that said ROOTES
on one side. Some had Chrylser penastars on the other. I bought
20 on consignment and took them to the Toronto United. I was
asking my cost $10 a key. I sold two. Uncle Wally said 'These
people don't know what the're looking at'. I gave Wally two and
returned the rest. A few years later everything went to Wisconsin.
I tried to get the keys but they couldn't be found. They are probably
being used on a snowblower now.

My Mk1 has a piece or round pencil rod. It has all the bends and does away
with the cable It is an improvement although not orginal BUT I wont ever
brake
a cable and have to rig up something to pull by hand in order to accelerate.
Years ago I used a cable from another Engliash car- I was working part time
at
a place called "World Wide Imports"I bought my first Tiger from the owner-
his
personal car. I dont recall what model car I robbed the cable from BUT I used
the stock housing and inserted a longer cable. I have a bike shop near my
house- IF I needed cable I would see him, as Im certain he has it on rolls- U
can sodder the ends to stop it from raveling if you choose but I think they
also have ends that slide on and then crimp. Just some thoughts.

I'm trying to get the old girl started soon and am dealing with the final
details. I swapped out the 2BBL with an Edelbrock preformer and a 4BBL.
Now, the accelerator cable is a wee too short. Is there a longer cable
available in tigerland or do I just need to visit the local dorman cabinet
and rig up some parts?
Thanks in advance........
