I can't answer your specific question, but, if you are trying to save space,
there is a way to save an inch and a half in engine length.
Swapping to a late model 5.0 Explorer or '94-'95 5.0 Mustang serpentine belt
drive is supposed to give you a 27" length from the back of the block to the
front of the accessory pullies. The key elements are the timing cover, the
reverse rotation water pump and a four bolt crankshaft damper with a shorter
length serpentine pulley.
A little fabrication would be needed to change the alternator/generator
bracket to move it back and switch it to a serpentine pulley and craft an
idler/adjustment pulley on the left side of the engine to reverse the water
pump rotation, but the parts shouldn't be too expensive. There is an
Explorer timing cover on Ebay now with an opening bid of $.99 and Buy It Now
of $15.00. It's the one you would need with a recessed area for the water
pump impeller, rather than being flat. Or you could buy the $67.95 new one!
Of course, this all assumes there is nothing to prevent using a different
crankshaft damper and pulley and I don't have a Tiger here it check that out
right now.
