Mark...
I think Concours can be a bit of a misnomer.... how about the 2 terms...
'Concours original' ... and 'Concours restoration' ...I think if a car was
presented as the latter category that there would be more leeway...
I have a friend that has what I would consider a 'Concours original' A-H
3000 MKIII ... it HAS had a repaint but the rest of the car is pretty much
unmolested as it has all the factory pieces in it including original top,
upholstery, carpet etc. etc. ...!! The judges use it as a reference to judge
the other cars... lol
I don't have those problems with my car... it had started on the 'modified'
path long before I got it... and it continues to do so... funny, when I take
it to shows I get people telling me that the trunk hinges should be body
colour and not cad plated... etc. ... well... whatever...!!

Subject: [Tigers] The moral delima
"So, an ethical and moral delima, eh? :^} If it was not sold as a LAT
option part, then is modifying one that was not into a LAT fair? Dow you
then sell the modified one as a Real LAT? Or ? Does that diminish the
fair market value of teh real ting by adding a fake one into the global
inventory, lol.."
How ethical is it for someone to claim a car is concours perfect if
something that is not visible has been changed. I'm thinking of something
as simple
as tapping a stripped out hole to the next larger size. Now it's not
"exactly" as it came from the factory, but would judges deduct for
something like
this if they knew or should they just consider parts are visible?
Or could something like a rebuilt engine that has been bored oversize be
considered concours?
