I have been looking at Tiger engines with respect to the Ford part
numbers and ID tags.
Here a few interesting tidbits or at least they're interesting to me.
My F21KA engine has a higher Rootes number than several B19KC
engines which are in the next order group of engines. This leads me to
believe that the F21KA engines and part of the B19KC engines order were
build during the same time frame, early 1965. These engines were shipped
to England together and that each engine was tagged specifically F21KA or
B19KC. The mix of engines occurred at Rootes receiving dock where they
were consecutively numbered and accounted for as they were unloaded and thus
the seemingly out of order number sequence.
I believe all these engines were cast in Dec 1964 between Christmas
and New Years.
I believe the remaining B19KC engines were all cast around July 20,
1965 and assembled in Oct 1965.
It would be interesting to understand when the C5OE-D intake
manifold was first installed.
One of us probably has the last B19KC engine built to 1965 specifications,
that is prior to Aug 1965.
One of us probably has the last B19KC and last 260 engine ever built by
Ford.
I have no idea if I can find answers to any of this but I'm willing to try
so I need everyone's help.
I would like to look at this Ford information from the beginning of the MK I
to the end of the MK II Tiger production.
You can help with this by sending me offline any of the following
information you readily know or can easily find;
Tiger Vin #
Rootes engine #
Ex: 5135 F21KA
Block casting # This # and the casting date are above the starter; if you
know the # fine, don't strain yourself here for this number Ex: C4OE-6015E
Block casting date
Ex: 4M23
Intake manifold casting # This # is up top, front on the intake
manifold
Ex: C4OE-9425
Intake manifold casting date This # is near the casting # to the
front of intake
EX: 4G8
Ford engine ID tag information; please include all numbers on this small
aluminum tag located on the intake manifold if you have one
Engine build date code On Engine block, drivers side just above 1 water
pump bolt on a machined surface near head
Ex: 5A18B
Color of the engine block especially important for B19KC engine series
EX: Black
Thank You for your help
