Ron,
Just a quick note. Since you seem to be into this stuff. The Ford
Industrial Diversion of Ford had nothing to do with producing Sunbeam
Tiger engines. Any dealings with customers outside of normal Ford
production was funneled through their "Industrial" division. The
purpose was simple. Records needed to represent fulfillment of
contracts. Ford and Humber Motors ltd. had a contract for 10,000
engines and transmission. All of the Tiger engines were pulled from
Ford's Detroit small-block assembly line. Details covering power
plants, gearboxes - and various "ship loose" items are chronicled in
documents that will be included in my slowly developing second volume
on the Sunbeam Tiger. I must admit to not being in too much of a
hurry to finish "book two", but it is taking shape
sortaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
ncm
..snip..I believe Ford Industrial Division assembled 260 engines for
some time but I
>have no information about when the last 260 engine was built...snip..
