Hi Sunbeamers!
My B9472884 had a milestone today....it clocked it's 100,000th mile in perfect
Tiger conditions (at 65mph on a deserted country road, temp gauge 88C, oil
pressure 70psi).
I'm lucky enough to have the original "Green card" English registration
document which lists previous owners (and odometer readings). The car had
travelled 71,679 miles when I bought it in 1982. It didn't do many miles
whilst I was working but after retirement in 2004 I'm using every week and
enjoying it more and more.
>From memory, since first registration (I don't have the green card with me at
the moment) the car has travelled on average 6.36 miles/day . Not too hectic
at all!!
The car is 15,721 days old or 43 years, 15 days old. (website
http://www.timeanddate.com/ used to calculate days between dates).
Alternative time units
15,721 days can be converted to one of these units:
1,358,294,400 seconds
22,638,240 minutes
377,304 hours
2245 weeks (rounded down)
and the dashboard clock still works!!
Next topic...............Perth Sunbeam outing..........
On Sunday here in Perth we had a "British Car day" up at a place called Gin
Gin (small country town about 60 miles north of Perth).
There were 3 Tigers, 10 Alpines and several Rapiers Hillman Imps etc. A great
day was had by all. All the Sunbeam/Rootes group owners having a great time.
The Humber Super Snipes and Hillman Imps were parked nearby also so it was a
real "Rootes Group" gathering.
Cheers to all
David in Perth - Western Australia
How many miles has your Tiger done?
