HI
I have the original radio option as shown in the Book of Norman in NOS
condition. It is not for sale. But I can supply information that you
request.
The answer to the first question is obviously yes.
The answer to the second question is the radio had two styles both in AM
only as FM was in its infancy. One had 3 buttons and was the early style and
the other later style had 5 push buttons. The speaker grill was diamond
weave metal perforation with a cloth backing. The surround for the speaker
was made of cardboard and the whole thing assembled as unit and with a
special radio bracket hung from the dash supports and does not sit on the
console.
And lastly it was a Rootes Group option and available for Alpines or Tigers.
Ross "Commodore Blues" Hulse
Does anybody have any info on the original radio/speaker console that
appears to have been a dealer accessory for Tigers in the day? This
rode on the center transmission hump, appeared to be made out of
plastic and had a single speaker grill facing the rear of the cockpit.
Do any exist today? what was it constructed of? was it shared with
Alpine? Etc.
Thanks.
