i guess so but its not exactly a problem to use the spacers.
i also used bolt-on 1" spacers for the rears even with the maximum
offset allowed by the stud length built into the wheels. this allowed
me to use 225 rear tires without fouling the leaf springs on hard
cornering and also makes it look better.
i should mention that i have flared arches though. without them both
front and rear may protrude too much.
