Steve
This is really a question for Norm but here is the information I
have.
TBON states that the soft cover started with B382000001
The square corner doors started with B9473101
Therefore a Tiger with round cornered doors should have a metal cover.
However due to production methods; the old parts will be used up before a
new revision is started and due to the way the Rootes assembly line worked
there could be variables with the exact serial numbers of the Tigers that
had square door corners and those with round corners.
Any other variants will be due to the owners preference or possibly damage
repair done with available parts. My Tiger should have rounded corners on
the trunk lid but during the restoration the repair shop took a short cut
and made it square corners.

I had a question on the Mk I that was featured. Why did it have a soft
cover over the folded top as opposed to the hard steel cover? I thought all
round corner cars had the steel covers.
