The first thing you do with a window regulator is mark the positions  of the 
hooks on the counter balance spring and remove it. Wind the  regulator up as 
far as you can to do this. The rivet(s) will have to have  the peened side 
ground down and then driven out or pressed out. One  way to assemble this is to 
reuse the original rivet and weld it to the new  gear fan( this is if you can't 
get new rivets as most of these are shoulder  rivets). Lube all pivot points 
and especially the housing that holds the crank.  There is a clutch spring 
inside this that needs lube to work properly.  Motorcycle chain lube works 
great 
here. Also lube the counter balance spring  with white grease and reinstall 
last.  HTH Been a long time since I have  had one of these apart.
