Engines can take a limited amount of total advance at lower speeds. When you
figure in total advance(initial+mechanical+vacuum) try not to exceed 42-44
degrees at 2,500 to 3,000 rpm. You will start to experience a trailer
hitching feel like something bumping the car in the rear. This is over
advancing and the spark happens before the piston reaches top dead center on
the power stroke.
Not a good thing, puts alot of stress on the pistons, rods and bearings.
