Well, the notificatons went out about mid day today. World FInals
cancelled because of rain and water on the salt lake bed surface.
BUmmer, car was loaded, everything else was loaded and we were just
waiting for Monday morning to head out. So no racing until next
summer...but, wait, maybe I will sneak in a dyno day or 2 in between. I
have many new things to do to the car: 1) 2 larger turbos (T3/T04E 57
trim) or maybe one T91, 2) redo the turbo headers so I can actually see
the spark plugs on the drivers side, 3) wrap all the wiring in loom tape
to clean it up under the hood, 4) add my Dataq 4 channel box to measure
boost using a 2 bar GM MAP sensor, 5) fab up some inner fender panels to
keep the salt out of the engine bay, 6) maybe a small spoiler on the
rear of the car to help keep it pointed int he right direction, and 7)
lots of maintenance.
Many thanks to all those who support and rooted for the Spirit of
Sunbeam this year, I was really looking forward to getting my "B"
license and then going for the personal record and my A license. Next
year for sure!
