Hi all,
This is the second half of Jim's message. I broke it up to get around the 4k
"contribution limit"...

Subject: [Fwd: [Fwd: New front suspension? Help needed]]
But here is where your help is needed. Ted is willing and interested in
adapting this suspension to the Tiger and Alpine. He is willing to
invest the time and money and the engineering effort to produce a
product which is a direct bolt in replacement for your cars. However Ted
does not own a Tiger. If he did, this would have already been done
because he would never have tolerated the existing system, knowing that
he could do so much better. But his business is not some large
conglomerate where he can afford to go out and buy a Tiger just so he
can develop the suspension for it either. Fact is, he has his assets and
budget allocated to existing products and would have great difficulty in
even purchasing an Alpine for that purpose unless someone could present
him with a skeleton that he could use for the job at a good price, and
even then he is greatly concerned about the differences between the
Alpine and the Tiger suspension, being under the impression that there
was a probable steering rack relocation and perhaps a bend somewhere
like in the steering arms perhaps. These unknowns have halted the project.
Several of you have called him asking about his suspension, and he has
repeatedly offered to develop it for the Tiger if someone would send him
a cross member. Even better would be if someone with a car under
restoration could leave the car at his facility while other aspects of
the resto are being done. Ted has a very nice and secure facility, your
car would be protected and pampered, and returned to you with the finest
suspension money can buy, at a cost that is very reasonable, and once
that is done, any of your group would then be able to buy one.
So that's the opportunity I am presenting to your group. Doesn't make
much difference to me personally if you act on it, but it looks like
something you guys really need so I thought I'd try to help.Ted's phone
number is: (269) 792-6632. Or you can email me and I'll help set it up.
If nobody has a car available, Ted thinks he could work from as little
as a front cross member as long as he has an opportunity to inspect an
complete car and take some measurements.
