The Rootes letter is interesting.  It says  something about  these 4000 
badges are to be fitted until the regular production run is  ready.  I wonder 
if 
that means there were two different kinds of badges  used.  Hmm, one more tiny 
detail to ponder.  Now we not only have to  worry about having a pentastar, we 
also have to worry about having the "right"  one:-)
