The part that gets to me on both the car and bike shows is that the vehicles
appear to be built for looks and looks only. It doesn't seem that there is
much solid engineering behind them.
Someone mentioned cutting up oil pans. How about when things don't fit and
they just decide to move the engine back 3 or 4 inches? Hmm, I wonder if
anyone considers what that might do the handling and braking of the car.
In all of the times that I've watched any of these shows, I've only seen a
torque wrench appear once. How would you like to cruise at interstate speeds
on one of these thrown together bikes or cars? And if they aren't just
thrown together, then the shop owner, in my opinion, is pretty foolish for
allowing it to appear that way in a show.
