I owned a road race Mustang that suffered a catastrophic flywheel / clutch
failure at high RPMs. Thanks to a shield, none of the frags made it into the
cockpit. The hood looked as if it were blasted by a shotgun from underneath and
the only remnants of the clutch & flywheel was the sheet metal part of the
pressure plate that was spinning around the trans input shaft for quite a
while.
