DMstone- I would enjoy reading thru and looking for a
reference to the hole. I think it would be interesting
if we could find out why it is there and when someone
decided it was needed or if Rootes decided.Dan Roth
has a brother who was a Rootes dealer. Dan, can you
ask your brother if he has any ideas about the hole?
AND does anyone know about the material Dr. Moonstone
mentions. If I can beg borrow or read it on line??? C

How about checking the "Tip" books that have been
produced by CAT or STOC/STOA (I think that's where
they came from ) and see if any tip relating to the
hole can be found and if so see if they correspond to
the year of the Tigers with the hole?<snip
I think I have a CAT tech tips book but Im not sure
about what issue and I also do not remember anyone
mentioning the hole. Several good tips, although some
are now no longer available or have been improved on.
Perhaps the next edition. If anyone know the correct
response please let me know.
