Tigers- I have a new question. Recently on ebay a Tiger was put on for
auction, it is number 7997391450. If you take a look it has a hole in the
tranny tunnel. It appears to be larger than the spark plug hole but it is on
the right side. It starts just as the tunnel starts to spread out from the
seamed part which the shifter hole is in. Please take a look at the auction
to get a better understanding of the location. The Mk1a Im presently
sanding to bare metal has the exact same hole. Can anyone tell me what this
hole was for. If it had a cover when it came from Rootes and why it isnt in
all cars? I thought perhaps a PO had cut the hole in my car but it came from
out west and the car on ebay has been in NJ for awhile according to Norm. I
called Doug Jennings in Dayton and he has 3 cars in his shop, none of which
have the hole. At least not one matching the location I tried to convey.
Anyone interested in looking will have an advantage over Doug as he didnt
see a pic. Please post on list as Im sure everyone will wonder what the hole
is for and how many owners know if their Tiger does or does not have one.
