Mark,
The "cable" is really a rod, after all. It extends about 1/2 - 3/4 inch
above the welded floor nut. Got a long leg? It is easy to adjust,
does not need "re-adjusting" unless you can stretch a solid, tempered
wire rod "cable", and allows the "cable" to assume the slightly arched
shape it needs to change the alignment to agree with the carb linkage
and pedal movement planes. The "stop" is a strong bolt threaded to that
large nut shown on the picture.
This is actually a Good Rootes design (short list), if properly used,
and the adjustment is easy and one-time per "cable" rod.
