All,
The trademark rights only apply to the naming and branding issues. Any
"non-branded" repro parts would not be affected so long as the selling
company does not include "Sunbeam" (or Tiger etc) in it's naming or
promotioal materials other than as descriptive terms. All the modern
aftermarket guys have no problems selling their parts, but you do see
the footnote about "trademarks are the property of their respective
companies". The Sunbeam Tiger logo shirts, hats, jackets, etc would be
in trouble (or subject to license fees), as would repros of parts that
have logos (Chrome Tiger script for example), since the new tradmark
rights would cover those items.
Rick and other may have to change their company names to avoid license
fees. Steve Laifman would have to change the name of Tigersunited
website, and on and on, since those are all Brand/trademerk related
uses of the words Sunbeam and Tiger.
