If access is poor for replacing the welded in nut; I would look at
installing a Heli coil. Heli coil sets cost $30 to $50 which gives you a
drill bit, special tap, inserts and insert set tool; this is an easy
process. Pep Boys carries them. Another choice would be to tap the nut
the next size larger.

One of the holes into which the four seat mounting bolts attach is stripped.
It looks like this is a nut welded onto the underside of a sheet metal
fabrication that is also welded into place. It is the inside front
passenger mount, so there is a little access room, but not much. Has
anybody tackled this problem and found a relatively clean and easy fix?
