That is not a Tiger characteristic at all. I've had my Tiger with its 5
speed trans waaaay over that on a few occassions (of course I would
never exceed the posted legal limit on public highways, officer) and it
is as steady as a rock and vibration free at very high speeds. I don't
think alignment wouldn't cause shaking like that, it would affect
"tracking", i.e. how straight the car steers.

The obvious and easiest thing to look at first is wheel balance.
Depending on your wheels, this can be an easy thing to fix, to a
difficult issue. I used to have original LAT70 wheels on the car and
they were almost impossible to balance properly (a known issue with
those). I finally found a shop that uses a Hunter balancer, and it
smoothed things out considerably, although not perfectly. To find a shop
that uses a Hunter, go to their website,
http://128.242.141.111/index.cfm They have a list there you can access
to find a shop near you that uses one. I have since switched to 14"
Panasports and even with much stiffer tires (also balanced on a Hunter
machine) I get no vibration or shaking whatsoever even at high speeds.

If your vibration cause is not the wheels and tires though, I'm sure
you'll get some good advice from the list soon from owners who are a lot
more knowledgeable than I am on other front end issues.
