Based on the stress cracks I found in mine... The rear lower fulcrum pin pad
had cracks radiating from it, around the corner and up towards the seam
where the upper and lower halves of the crossmember are spotwelded together.
Then around the front there are some sharp bends in the sheetmetal where the
filler piece is put in that covers the cutout required to clear the rack -
there were cracks moving outward from there as well. If you drove the car
enough with these cracks propagating they'd quickly get big enough to be
unfixable, as well as being a serious safety hazard.
