You make some great points and give credit where credit is very, very due.
But, to answer the question:
True, face to face, in person interaction is not part of the internet-based
model...the power of SAAC or any other truly successful club of that scope is
providing not only a framework for the exchange of information relating to
the club's focus, but also a structure for bringing the people together on a
consistent basis. Outside of SUNI, it don't happen in the Tiger community on
anything other than a regional basis! Which, it would seem, is a limitation of
significance in garnering support for the marque.
