The spacer part # is C2OZ-6265-A and it is on all small block
engines before March of 1965. The March change includes a thicker thrust
plate,.250" thick, and the spacer is molded into the new aluminum cam
sprocket.
My reference book indicates that the earlier spacer is .218" thick.
You could have a spacer machined or you could install the later parts if you
can't find or make a spacer.

Subject: 260 Thrust Plate Spacer
Does anyone have a spare spacer that fits on the front end of the camshaft
on
a 260 that they're willing to sell? This is the spacer that fits in the
opening of the thrust plate. It is specific to the 260 and does not exist
on the
289.
Thanks!
