Thank you very much for the  dimensions of the wood under the battery.  As I 
said, mine had a metal battery tray and I might just replace that.  I think if 
I ever get a battery leak, I'd rather have it go into the tray rather than 
the metal of the trunk.  I realize it's not going to be entirely original, but 
it does seem practical to me.
