Due lack of quick access to the originator's e-mail address, I am
forwarding his message (following the reprint question, to the
originator and the list.

I attempted to respond to the headers issue but do not have the correct
Tiger list address.
can you forward this and give me the address?

Subject: Tiger Headers
Just a note about Tiger headers.
I have installed several sets of the current CAT headers.
I have NOT had to "dimple" the headers to clear the frame
or motor mounts.
The key is motor position!
Most of the time motor mounts are the problem.
IF, a BIG IF, your car has NOT been hit / damaged in the
front, the headers should fit.
Don't assume you NEED to dimple them to get them into
position, IF(BIG) your car has not been previously damaged in
the front!.
IF your car have been damaged, fix the car!
If you can't get the headers IN, think about a different
method before resorting to the hammer!
I have seen headers "dimpled" on one side only to walk
over to the other side and see excess header clearance!
I do check and "clearance" the headers for bolt fit.
Also, you can get bolts with 5/16 heads.
I have not installed the SS headers in some time, but I
think the above applies to them also.
Don't ask me to work on your car if you have 12 point bolts
on your headers!!!!
