I haven't seen it on mine, but I've heard that a leaky trunk gasket or similar could cause exhaust smells in the cockpit, even with a good exhaust system. Also, are you sure your firewall is well sealed? Drop a trouble light into the engine compartment at night and stick your head under the dash. A little leak at the headers could be sucked right in.
