In AC wiring a 10 gauge copper wire is rated for 30 amps. I agree with Theo that this motor should never draw anywhere near that amount. I've had motors blow fuses upon start-up of the motor when the motor themselves were worn and binding up. One step might be to see just how much the motor is drawing...it's amperage might be printed on the motor somewhere. Mark L. |
