Does anyone know if the 289 is in jeopardy of becoming extinct for small
block Ford enthusiasts or is the scarcity of parts like the 2.87" stroke
crankshaft only a (Midwest) regional problem?
I'm undecided whether to rebuild and continue with my 289 or change over
to building a stroker small block like the 347 that seem to have more
current parts availability and improved performance.
Articles describing the massive increases in torque and power of the 347
stroker, i.e. Lunati kit, hadn't included descriptions of the every day
liveability of this high performance beast nor the compatibility of its
output with the frame, mounts, torque deflection and drive line
components of the Tiger.
Can anyone describe their experience and recommendations on the stroker
variations, options and use?
